About This Course
Robo-Soccer is an exciting project-based learning module from STEMbotix that blends robotics engineering, programming, and competitive gameplay into a single immersive experience. Students design and assemble a custom wheeled robot using the Advanced Kit components, program it to respond to wireless commands, and then take it onto the field for a real robot soccer match.
The course follows the Engineering Design Process — students build, test, reflect, and iterate their robots between matches, making it a powerful tool for developing both technical and critical thinking skills.
What Students Will Do
- Assemble a 4-wheel drive chassis robot using motors, sensors, and servo actuators from the Advanced Kit
- Write and upload code (Arduino C++ or block-based Blockzie) to control movement, sensors, and display
- Set up Bluetooth / RF wireless communication for real-time joystick control
- Compete in timed 4-minute matches on a standard 2400 × 1200 mm field
- Reflect on robot performance and redesign between rounds
